Professional Development Library at Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Wesley's father Skip works for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he serves on the board of their Houston Black Employee Network (BEN) as chair of the Professional Development Committee. As part of their 2025 Black History Month celebrations his committee decided to install a "professional development library" at the HPE Houston Headquarters.
The library will function like a "Little Free Library" where employees can borrow and/or donate books on a range of professional development topics - coaching, leadership, time management, etc. The library is open to all team members at the HPE Houston campus, but is clearly sponsored by the Houston BEN chapter. This library was finished with a vinyl "wrap" featuring a Kente cloth pattern.
HPE team members are encouraged to highlight and make notes in the margins of the books they read. This will allow future readers to gain the insight from the original author, as well as wisdom from the local community.
